 The
Wednesday nite net on 146.700 linked with 444.80 and 53.13 in Elyria, Ohio began as mostly a ragchewing
session with who-ever happened to join in, sometimes the latest radio advertisements
are brought forward and radio activities in the community are discussed.
Volunteers for up-coming public service events are often recruited here.
Along the shoreline of Lake Erie many groups rely on the amatuer radio
community for emergency communication help with bicycle races, halloween safety nets, soccer games, walk-a-thons, and other area events. NOARS encourages our
members and other licensed operators to help out whenever possible.
Leading
up to on-the-air contests, operating skills are shared here as well. Those who want to try operating a new mode and are looking for help making
preliminary adjustments, help on locating out of date publications, and activities
at the U.S.S. Cod station where there are many nets and special events
are discussed. The net control check-in stations are John WD8IQJ, John K8JWS, Al N8CX, and Harold WD8OFG. They each take a week and log who is on-the-air and Jack WA8Q runs the odd ball 5th week of the month.
Discussions started
here sometimes are carried over into the Thursday evening Technical discussion net. To return to the net page
