The U.S.S. Cod is the only WW II submarine in original
condition as she was when in service (except for live ammunition rounds, of
course!). This National Monument in honor of the men of the Silent Service is at the Port of Cleveland in Lake Erie between Burke Lakefront Airport and
the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame, and is open to the public with tours daily from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
The Amatuer Radio station is now in the original radio room alongside other electronic equipment used during her missions at sea.
Several crew members have been contacted and at least one of her Captains. Listen for details about the certificates and photo Q.S.L. cards available when you work K8KRG aboard the submarine, there are special events operated throughout the year, off season by appointment only.
